Katie Paton
Legal Practitioner Director
Katie has been practising as a solicitor since 2005 and has a strong reputation as a trusted advisor, working closely with her clients to provide timely, relevant and cost-effective advice and solutions.
Katie has experience in high volume and low quantum debt recovery litigation, insolvency and commercial contracts and disputes.
Katie:
- advises secured and unsecured creditors, directors, shareholders and external administrators and trustees in all matters of corporate distress, asset recovery and protection.
- guides clients on processes and documentation to optimise accounts receivables.
- negotiates commercial and research contracts for businesses.
Katie also provides consultancy services for short-term assignments and projects.
Katie previously acted a mediator accredited under the National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) where she combined her ability to understand the parties’ needs with her strong communication and listening skills to provide a foundation for the parties to resolve disagreements.
Katie's expertise has been enhanced by having worked for the government bankruptcy agency, inhouse at a big 4 bank (on secondment), private practice firms of various sizes and having completed the insolvency education program (as it was then known) run through the Australian Restructuring Insolvency & Turnaround Association (ARITA).
